Lovely Chris has suggested the website for Coats Crafts. They have a mass of free patterns. So go have a gander and find your next project!

Want to get your hands on some more of that locally produced alpaca yarn? Marilynn and Emily sell online as well as at the Ripponne markets.
Have a look and see if there is anything you like. What could be better than supporting a local business (not to mention one that creates such gorgeous yarn!)?

Clare has recommended these lovely people based in the UK. They stock New Zealand yarns and ship worldwide for free.
I found these fabulous people online last week and just had to share!
Their video tutorials and kits are just perfect for those beginning the knitting process (although we recommend starting with a ‘scarf’ or square until you get your technique down first ;))
The lovely Annemarie has recommended this lovely site based in Australia. They have some nice free patterns that some of you may like to have a look at.
They also have quite a well stocked online store and appear to shipping internationally. (Although with the strong Australian dollar you may be better off buying within Europe.)
One of our lovely new members is rekindling her passion for all things knitted with a gorgeous kit from Loop in the UK.
The wonderful news is that they also have an online shop!
I tried to put all of this information onto the website and found that it was getting messy and I was having problems putting all the information I wanted onto one page. I then had a lightbulb moment, if I put the locations on a blog, I can link to them all and keep them individually updated!
One of the questions I get more than any other (other than, ‘A stitch ‘n’ what?!’) is ‘Where can I buy craft supplies in Lausanne?’. I’m hoping to answer that question on the blog. Each location, website etc will have it’s own post, enabling the addition of maps, pictures and reviews. This also allows for easy updates!
Click here to get all of the posts in one easy to find location.
Hope it helps

Just up the from Lausanne Gare is Pingouin. Both times I’ve been there they’ve been exceptionally friendly. They stock a fair supply of yarn, Aida cloth by the meter and have a large supply of DMC threads organised by number (unlike the little mess in Manor)
Hidden behind Globus is a gorgeous shop choc full of supplies. They have some lovely yarns, stock some patten books in english (I picked up the Summer Rowan Kids pattern book just last week), embroidery patterns, cross stitch, tapestry and have baby bibs, tea towels etc all ready for your embroidery. It will be a definite challenge to visit and not to leave with a new project (or three)!
